Training

We had a very busy week. Elder Montoya of the 70 came to talk to us missionaries. We all got to shake his hand. They told us if he asked us anything we need to answer. So he would shake your hand and say your last name. When I came up, he poorly pronounced Weyard and said, "Where are you from?" and me with my quick wit said " Washington." Then he said, " Ohh, Washington D.C." So I had to explain that there are two Washingtons for the millionth time on my mission.

He is from Mexico and spoke in General Conference in October. He told us about how it is to prepare a talk. You have to write it and send it in English. And it goes through about three chains up to the prophet. The prophet reads everything. It was amazing we were there from 8am til about 2pm. He spoke a lot about obedience and loving the people and most of all, your companion. It was incredible.

It's funny to see the different accents they have here. Some sing while they talk. In Mexico they sing, so everyone was laughing. There is also a lot of words that are different. Polo is playera, palta is aguacate. Very fun to learn a new language. I would recommend it. Love you all. Have fun this week, and don't forget to write...
