I Got Moved!

Here I am. My new area literally shares a road that my old area has. I think I can see my old area from my room. Come on! But it is what it is. Thanks for all the emails, and words of advice. My companion has about three months more than me, I'll put in a pic I took of him. He is a member of the army. He was baptized at 23 years of age and is going the celebrate 26 years of age this February. That means he is almost a year older than Howard. He is awesome, we are having a blast. He likes to wake up early to do a lot of exercise.

I got to know a lot of people in just a week. They are good people. I feel like nothing has changed, Everything looks the same. I found a cow though. We found a women and her siblings. She has her son and almost husband. They won't get married because they are getting to know each other. That is my least favorite saying.

I'm having a great time. For the first time in six months my bathroom has a door, so that's new. Have a great week, don't forget about me!!!

Changes!

Well. It happened. I'm leaving to my next area. Laureles Stake and Laureles Ward. My companion will be another Peruvian, but from the jungle. All day today we have been visiting members and investigators. I am more sad than when I left my house. One of my investigators daughters said she isn't going to go to church, she is going to come with me. She's seven... It's been a tough few hours. The call came at 10pm, then I was too sad to sleep until about 1am. But I know it's my time and it was going to happen at one point.

This week we taught a less active. She was baptized recently and started to have a relationship with a non member... DON'T DO THAT! But he cheated on her and she came crawling back to the church. It has been an incredible experience to see her grow and change. She said she would never forgive him and never get married, but little by little, the Savior is softening her heart.

We made tacos too. It was incredible...

Love you all so much. Have a great week and I'll let you know how the other side of Trujillo is...

Drunks

Okay, it's been a fast week, I don't know where the time is going. Next week is changes. It's likely I'm leaving because I finish training this week. I have over a year and two areas. There are people that have served in Bolivia and Chile that had 1 area and 19 companions. I have had two areas and four companions. Everyone here tells me that President is punishing me. But I'm enjoying myself. I got to do changes with a Bolivian for a day. There are three Bolivians, from where he lives in La Paz, that are in this mission, they are all very smart. He taught me some cool things on guitar. I love these people down here.

There is a less active I met my first day here in May. He answered the door super drunk. After many visits and relapses, he is finally progressing. It has been an incredible experience to see him apply the atonement in his life and change himself. He has told us how challenging it has been and how rewarding. He said it is impossible to take away what he did to his family and his friends and the people in the street. When you see someone drunk, they aren't the same. Some cry, some yell "GRINGO", some are on the ground passed out, some sing really loud, but you can always repent. It has been an amazing time of learning for him and for me.

Love you all! Why doesn't anyone tell me what's happening with football!? I'll send pictures when I'm sure I won't get a virus...

General Conference

I LOVED CONFERENCE!!!! It is so much better here. They talked a ton of the natural man, repentance, not judging leaders or people, and prayer! It was so good. I watched it all in English but there was a chubby guy that said we can't do that, and tried to sabotage us. But we figured it out. My pensionista also gave birth on the 29th. Here's a picture with her baby. She needed a c-section because he
was so huge. Glad she is back to normal and not so moody. She is the best! Love you mom, have fun at home and tell everyone thanks in the temple.

Un Año

Well, I have a year out here. It really scares me. Everyone says it's like a mountain: You go up for a year, and then drop down really fast. But it's only 50%.

This week we found a door that was little, so we took a picture. And there was actually someone inside who wanned to listen to us, it was incredible. But their mom is a Jehovah's Witness. She was confused on what to do. So we taught the Restoration and invited her to be baptized. But her mom screamed, "Don't you dare make my daughter do anything!" This is probably a 25 year old women studying and living at home. It's sad when parents impose religion on their kids, but sadder when they don't let them do anything with any church. Thanks mom and dad.

Conference was great. We got to watch it all in English again. Loved the talks on missionary work when they were speaking to all the members. It really is the most important thing we can do, so go to it. Have a great week, see you all in a year!!!
